{"id":1173,"date":"2025-07-08T08:53:58","date_gmt":"2025-07-08T08:53:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/akrc.agasticollege.edu.in\/?p=1173"},"modified":"2025-07-08T08:55:37","modified_gmt":"2025-07-08T08:55:37","slug":"library-orientation-sybcom-2025-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/akrc.agasticollege.edu.in\/?p=1173","title":{"rendered":"Library Orientation SYBCom 2025-26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Library Orientation for SYBCom Students: A Visit by Prof. Dr. Devdatta Shete and Class<\/strong> Date 08\/07\/2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Library recently had the pleasure of welcoming <strong>Prof. Dr. Devdatta Shete<\/strong> along with the <strong>SYBCom (Second Year Bachelor of Commerce)<\/strong> class for a comprehensive <strong>Library Orientation Program<\/strong>. The session was thoughtfully designed to familiarize students with the wide array of academic resources and services available to support their studies and research in commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mr. Bachhav<\/strong>, Librarian, conducted the orientation session and introduced students to the <strong>Library\u2019s physical and digital infrastructure<\/strong>. He provided an insightful overview of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Library Facilities and Services<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Library Portal<\/strong> and how to access it remotely<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Print and Electronic Resources<\/strong> relevant to the Commerce faculty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to effectively use the <strong>Library OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue)<\/strong> to locate books and materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Procedures to avail the <strong>Inter-Library Loan (ILL) facility<\/strong> for accessing resources from other institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assistant Librarian Dr. Ghule<\/strong> guided students through the <strong>book shelves<\/strong>, demonstrating how materials are organized and how to locate subject-specific titles. A special emphasis was placed on identifying and using <strong>pure reference sources<\/strong> such as encyclopedias, handbooks, dictionaries, and statistical yearbooks \u2014 tools essential for academic assignments and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visit was interactive and well-received, with students actively engaging in discussions and asking relevant questions.
