The Journal of Biosciences began in 1934 as a part of the Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences \u2013 Section B . In 1978, it separated from the Proceedings \u2013 Section B and came to be called the Proceedings \u2013 Animal Sciences, Proceedings \u2013 Plant Sciences and Proceedings \u2013 Experimental Biology. The following year, Proceedings \u2013 Experimental Biology was named Journal of Biosciences.
